This is a little winter project I built a few years ago. I made everything including the leather straps and the cushions which are covered in marine vinyl. It is fully adjustable and breaks down for storage in about 15 mins (takes about 20 to set up) and fits under our bed. I have made a few changes since these photos were taken but nothing major, just a couple things for comfort and stability. Last winter I added stirrups. Those things are expensive here in the states even used.I found an affordable pair (new) out of Germany (those crazy Germans). I again used T-slot and added a few pieces to the side of the upper leg supports that allow adjustability and removal of the stirrups. My only issue is the arms do not want to stay locked. I am open to suggestions. The arm pieces are just too heavy for the T-slot lock to hold them. I have been thinking about making a plate with holes and using either a spring loaded or screw type of peg to go into the hole to keep it in place. This would still allow plenty of adjustability I think. I am open to any suggestions. Let me tell you it is just as much fun to be the "sitee" or the "siter." My wife has named this "Stickman."

Stickman looks fantastic, it is a work of art. I think your idea of plates with holes in them and a locking pin would be the best solution. Another would be to add to the height and use two pulleys to hold the weight of the arms, with the cord going from the top to the tips of each arms. You could then use the pulleys to adjust them and then simply lock of the cords on a figure of eight sailing style block.

So here is what I am thinking. I can but another plate and lock on the front side. It will be out of the way but I will have to trim the end of the arm a bit which I do not mind. I wonder if having 2 locking points would help? The cable deal would make it too difficult to break down and store. I would have to have plates made if I went with the spring loaded pin and hole route. That could get expensive.
