Great tip about the conductive rubber degrading over time. The 6mm loop on my favourite electrode failed to register on my DVM even on the 10M range. ,Being both a cheapscate and lacking stocks of spare rubber I found that rubbing the surface of the rubber with a green ScotchBright pad left it with a new conductive surface - perhaps not quite as good as new rubber but...

Anyway, it was like having the brake-pads on your car changed - all my bits flew forward at speed on first application :)

BTW - 32/0.2 wire stripped out, twisted and tinned at each end makes a really good flexible metal core for the rubber.

That is a fantastic tip, thanks Gyrator. I have added it to the article and credited you with it, I hope that you don't mind. The wire idea is gold, much better than copper wire unless you want to make your loops more rigid as I guess the wire keeps them flexible.

Many thanks - I'm really happy for you to use any idea I have in any way. The thought of someone else getting a good zapping is its own reward :)
I also realised that there are even more flexible multi-strand wires you could use for the conductive core. Test lead wire must have about 50 fine strands and the silicone covered wire that places like HobbyKing sell for drone power wiring is even better. This allowed me to 'core' the 4mm rubber used on the bipolar cock loop and thread it round all the tight bends just as easily as if the core wasn't there.

I am all about spreading advice and best practice to help others get as much out of e-stim as I do. Thank you for letting me include your thoughts and advice in my articles. It is a nice feeling knowing you are helping someone enjoy themselves even more.

Once we are out of this lockdown I will have to get some of that wire to experiment with it. I also fancy making a form of umbilical for my cables to tidy things up a bit too when I stim with more than one channel.
